About Me
My path to Gestalt therapy did not start straightforwardly, but rather through several detours, shaped by many, often painful experiences and personal growth.
My fascination with nature first led me to study biology, culminating in a PhD in molecular cell biology. My work in scientific research, including two and a half years in Sweden, eventually brought me to Cologne, where I worked in a research institute as a lab manager.
Life offered me not only scientific insight, but also deep personal challenges. Painful losses and life crises introduced me early on to the emotional terrain of transformation. I developed a range of coping strategies – some more helpful than others. One profound personal crisis marked a turning point: it led me toward self-discovery and inner development.
Since then, mindfulness and meditation have become central to my life. A daily meditation practice helps me stay grounded and in conscious connection with myself and the world. My understanding of human needs in relationships deepened through training in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) by Marshall Rosenberg.
My therapeutic journey began with training in Humanistic Psychotherapy, including Person-Centered Therapy (Carl Rogers) and initial insights into Gestalt therapy (Fritz Perls). The experiential, integrative, and holistic approach of Gestalt therapy resonated deeply with me. It offered a way to integrate all my prior knowledge and experience – and ultimately inspired me to pursue further training in Integrative Gestalt Therapy (DVG certification as a Gestalt Counselor).
Today, I work as a Gestalt therapist and licensed healing practitioner for psychotherapy. My approach combines scientific understanding with a deeply human and mindful attitude. I firmly believe that every person carries the potential for healing and growth – and that sometimes, it simply takes a compassionate companion to begin walking that path.
